Délice & Sarrasin

Ambiance

Tucked inside an unassuming block in the cozy streets of the West Village sits Délice & Sarrasin, a charming, intimate boutique French restaurant. The space radiates warmth from the moment you step inside. With antique chairs and homey picture frames coming together to make a mini gallery wall at the entrance, the black and white large checkered floors, the exposed brick walls, the red velvet window curtains, to the collection of antique treasures—delicate stacks of vintage teacups nestled in antique cupboards, vintage clocks, candles that are made up of more wax drippings than actual candle. Every detail enhances the story the restaurant is telling as they weave their way through the space. Coming off of a recent trip to the south of France, these details immediately conjure the feeling of stepping into a restaurant on a quiet Parisian side street.

Délice & Sarrasin

Cuisine

This family-run gem offers a fully plant-based vegan French culinary journey. It truly feels like magic and Chef Yvette Caron is the magician. As a person who isn’t vegan or even vegetarian, I found my curiosity piqued more than usual. I asked myself, “how did she do this?” and “What am I even eating?” and “Oh, right, that’s not actual smoked salmon”. Honestly, I was so impressed. It made the meal so fun. Like an eat your own adventure. And, all of that is possible due to the finesse of every single dish. Each recipe is meticulously crafted each to honor the spirit of French cuisine without compromising on ethics or flavor. It’s genius.

What To Wear

Délice & Sarrasin encourages a polished-casual vibe—think crisp shirts, casual blazers, or chic daytime dresses. It’s upscale enough for a date but not so formal that you’ll feel out of place in your nice jeans and a pretty top. Comfort and confidence are key.

Kid Friendly

The restaurant’s smaller size and ambience make it better suited for adults or even older kids. For families with little ones, if you know your kid is calmer and can be part of the conversation, I’m sure the super friendly staff would happily welcome them—but parents, if you know your kids are on the louder side, you will for sure have other guest’s side eyes targeting you in this space.
